It looks like you can now get out of the S Mode and switch to a full-fledged edition of Windows 10. Many users buy laptops with Windows 10 S and then switch to Windows 10 Pro to avoid these restrictions. Windows 10 S Mode enables enterprises to offer faster performance with more security by locking users to the Microsoft Store as they cannot download external software. Several laptops come pre-installed with Windows 10 in S mode, including some Microsoft Surface devices.
